Equestrian Center News

The Yelp  April 2008 edition

Submitted by: Carol Holt

In March, boarders and good neighbors diligently worked to make repairs and upgrades to the Equestrian Center before the upcoming show season. We held two clean-up days and we were successful in completing most all the projects on the list, which was extensive.

Thanks to everyone who put in some long hours and hard work during these busy days. We would like to extend a huge thank you to a Mr. Jason Lewis, who literally showed up out of the blue with a tractor to help with the grading work that needed to be done. I arrived one Friday evening to find Mr. Lewis working in the dark to get the job done. This was surely a random act of kindness on Mr. Lewis’s part.

We kicked off the show season with our second annual Mudball Classic horse show held on Saturday, March 29th. I’m writing this prior to the event but I can tell you we are expecting a very large crowd.

Our first Friday evening Gymkhana Play Day will take place at 5:30 p.m. on April 25th. Plan to participate or just stop by to watch.

This is the time of year that you will see many more horses and riders trail riding in Yosemite Lakes Park. I would like to remind the community that if you approach a horse and rider on, or crossing the road, please slow down, give the rider the right of way and look for direction from them is necessary. This is the courteous thing as well as the safest thing to do for a trail rider.
